The City of Stanwood, Iowa, (population 684) is accepting applications for a Public Works Director. Duties include, but are not limited to: operation of water distribution and treatment systems, operation of wastewater system, snow removal, parks, streets, city equipment, enforcement of permits and inspections, and property maintenance.
The applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent; have a valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes, must have or be able to obtain the following IDNR certifications: Water Distribution Systems Grade I, Water Treatment Grade I, and Wastewater Grade II; and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as participate in an on-going IDOT approved drug testing program.
This is a full-time position which could exceed 40 hours per week, with weekend duties and on call status. Compensation will be based on experience.
